The presence of the shirts as they were taken from the bags, brought a cheers from the Greek players who were all very thankful for the shirts.

Pioneers Tour Manager Steve Curtis said “The Greek players and staff we met on the tour were all keen to learn and really loved the game of RL. A lot of the player had played Union before but I think the tour has opened their eyes to the great game of rugby league. I hope we have left them the tools, skills and desire to grow RL in Greece”

Team Manager Keith Sandhu added “I had a great time on the tour and learnt a lot from it, all of the Pioneers were a credit to themselves and their Universities, I enjoyed working with them and getting to know them and see them all develop in such a short period.  All players and staff agreed that the tour was an amazing experience and feel we have left a platform for rugby league to develop as well as making many friends in Rhodes”
